  2. Vision and Values The work of TCC Group is focused on enhancing the ability of organizations to have the greatest impact on societal issues and needs. It is important that TCC as a company, and as a collective group of individuals who care about these issues, does the same. TCC is proactively putting programs into place that will ensure that we have a positive impact on society, the environment, and our employees.

  3. Community Involvement Throughout its long history, TCC has contributed firm resources and has encouraged TCC employees to give their time and dollars to worthy causes. TCC also matches staff donations (up to $250 annually) to the nonprofit organizations of their choice. TCC employees participate in team-based community service projects. Additionally, the firm encourages and recognizes individual involvement in volunteering or community initiatives. TCC has donated books, food, and clothing in numerous collection drives. TCC Group is committed to community service through meaningful contributions to the larger social good.

  4. Environmental Impact A large amount of the firm’s corporate citizenship efforts are focused on fostering a more environmentally-friendly office culture through internal staff education, the reduction of paper and energy use, and more environmentally and socially-conscious purchasing. • 2008 INITIATIVES • Creating a “Green” Office • Reducing our Carbon Footprint • Enforcing Vendor Policies

  5. Creating a “Green” Office • Each TCC Group office has a formal recycling program. • In 2008, TCC donated used printers, mobile phones, computers, and monitors to be refurbished and reused. • All of our paper products are 100% post consumer recycled. • The New York office uses only 100% nontoxic and biodegradable cleaning supplies.

  6. Creating a “Green” Office • We’ve incorporated a heating and cooling system the uses an economizer to reduce energy consumption. • We use energy efficient fluorescent lighting with motion sensor switches. • A water filtration system is provided for kitchen and drinking fountains, discouraging the use of bottled water. • All appliances are Energy Star qualified. • All workstations, office furniture, and carpeting are made of recycled materials. • We also used low-emission VOC paint. In 2008, when renovating our New York Office, we used green technologies.

  7. Reducing our Carbon Footprint We use hybrid or green car services at each office location. We reduced the number of in-person firm meetings, conducting them instead by telephone conference. This initiative reduced staff intercontinental travel by 30%. We cut our office supply ordering and shipping by 50%. On average, TCC uses 7,400 KwH of energy per month. We are tracking 2008 consumption for baseline data for 2009.

  8. Vendor Policy • We prefer to work with local vendors. • Vendors should have formal waste reduction, recycling, and energy reduction policies • Vendors should participate in third-party certified renewable energy or carbon offset programs. • Products should be made from recycled, non-toxic or less toxic materials. We prefer to work with vendors whose products are made from recycled materials and who use minimal packaging. • Vendors should have a formal employee benefits program, including health care. TCC Group seeks to use vendors that subscribe to and promote socially and environmentally conscious actions in their practices.

  9. Next Steps TCC Group is evaluating and exploring new initiatives for 2009.
