It also includes bars, restaurants, hotels and travel agencies. It is the most widely employed sector within the United States and as a result, hospitality jobs are highly sought after. The hospitality industry creates unforgettable experiences for guests as well as employees. Some of the more popular hospitality industries include the food and beverage service, theme parks, airlines and hotels. Some popular hospitality businesses within the U.S. include inns, bed and breakfast, campgrounds, hotels and bed and breakfasts. They are all part of the hospitality industry and have a variety of different specialties. For example, inns offer guests comfortable accommodations, outdoor activities, meals and recreational facilities. If you're looking to begin working in the hospitality industry, there are a number of different opportunities. You can work at a variety of different locations including hotels, inns, campgrounds and bed and breakfasts. Many hospitality jobs require that you be willing to work long hours, providing you're an excellent worker and have a pleasant customer experience. The travel industry is another industry that is related to the hospitality industry. Travel agents play a significant role in the lodging and tourism market. They are responsible for coordinating travel plans and keeping track of guest spending. Travel agents can either operate in-house or work through a third party company. Many travel agencies will use representatives in the hospitality field in order to provide guest assistance, maximize savings, and provide advice on traveling plans. Another position in the hospitality profession that many people may not be aware of is the hotel general manager. This person oversees daily operations of the facility and is responsible for guest satisfaction and customer service. General managers monitor the performance of the front-desk staff, maintain cash flow and work with the front-desk staff to make sure that guest services are up to par. Hotel general managers are also typically responsible for marketing, advertising and promotional strategies.
