  3. Wrap Up Your Week Setting: what are some clues to the setting in Old Yeller? Plot: What is the conflict in Old Yeller? What is the climax in Old Yeller What is the resolution in Old Yeller? 10 minutes

  4. Wrap Up Your Week Synonyms: Make a list of synonyms for lunging. Spelling Review: The ending –ed changes a verb from the present to the past tense. The ending –ing makes a verb show action that is going on now. How do you know when to change the base spelling word and when not to? 10 minutes

  5. Wrap Up Your Week Point of View: Old Yeller is told from __________ point of view. Who is Travis? How does the point of view help tell a story? How would Old Yeller be different if told from a different point of view? Write a paragraph explaining your answer. 10 minutes

  6. Wrap Up Your Week Fluency Assessment: Read A Night in the Desert. Then answer the following questions. Why is Maggie concerned about spending the night up in the hills? What is the setting of the selection? 3. How does the setting influence what the characters do and the development of the plot? When you finish your questions, hand them in and begin working on the final draft of your inquiry project. Be sure to use blue or black ink. 20 minutes

  10. Wrap Up Your Week Final Draft: You’ll be making a final draft of your piece. Be sure to use blue or black ink and include your corrections and revisions. When you hand it in, include everything – notes, outline, rough draft, revisions, etc. 20 minutes
