This workshop aims to educate participants aged 4-19 on environmental issues and democratic decision-making. Through discussions, group activities, and practical assignments, students will explore renewable energy sources—wind, solar, and water—while considering diverse perspectives on nuclear energy. Key outcomes include fostering critical thinking, enhancing scientific literacy, and engaging students in environmental topics such as pollution and waste management. Activities include class discussions, multimedia presentations, and hands-on experiences like recycling and nature trips. Join us to encourage informed choices for the future!

What we have learned about science in society • Very difficult to reconstruct/remove misconceptions and introduce new facts that contribute to new insights • Science and the general opinion of the welfare of society can often come into conflict • Without knowledge its hard to contribute to the discussion. • Who decides who has enough knowledge to take part in the decision making.
Positive\Negative Aspects Positive: • Stimulate in a new way • Approach science differently • Very good for scientific literacy (higher levels) Negative: • Time consuming • Difficult to grade/evaluate • Efficiency depends per student (level of personal development)
