What is Plagiarism? What is Plagiarism? Plagiarism is taking others’ works and make them yours, intentionally or non intentionally. Merriam-Webster Dictionary defines the plagiarize as to steal and pass off (the ideas or words of another) as one's own : use (another's production) without crediting the source. Joseph Gibaldi says, “ To use another person’s ideas or expressions in your writing without acknowledging the source is to plagiarize.” ( page 30).
Why students plagiarize? "I wanted to get a better mark." 1 2 3 "I didn't have time to do the work." "I didn't know how to put it in my own words.“
