  6. CULMINATION REQUIREMENTS SPRING SEMESTER (began January 7th) • 5wk – (already passed) • 10wk – (already passed) • 15wk - • 18wk – determines eligibility for CULMINATION • 20wk - FINAL SPRING GRADES

CULMINATION REQUIREMENTS (Cont.) • NO MORE THAN 2 “FAILS” FOR BOTH FALL & SPRING SEMESTERS COMBINED • NO MORE THAN 2 U’s IN WORK HABITS ON THE 18-WEEK (SPRING U’S ONLY) • NO MORE THAN 2 U’s COOPERATION ON THE 18-WEEK (SPRING U’S ONLY) • HOMEROOM U’s COUNT!!!! • HAVE NO MORE THAN 10 FULL DAY ABSENCES OVER THE COURSE OF THE SCHOOL YEAR. • HAVE NO MORE THAN 10 UNEXCUSED TARDIES OVER THE COURSE OF THE SCHOOL YEAR. • PAY LIBRARY & TEXTBOOK FINES BY MAY 10TH, 2013!!

  8. Reminders: Culmination Speeches Due – 4/29/13, 8:00 am, to Ms. Kobashi LAUSD Open Enrollment, May 1 – 31, 2013 Pali Assessment Test – Saturday, 5/18/13

Culmination Speeches • Open to all 8th graders eligible for culmination • Theme: “Our Voices Make a Difference” • Criteria: • Maximum time length-3 minutes • Typed, 12pt Times New Roman font, double spaced • Dates: Mon 4/29- due to Counseling Office by 8:00 am • Fri 5/3 - 20 speeches will be chosen to tryout • Tues 5/7 & Wed 5/8 - tryouts during lunch & Period 5 • Mon 5/13- 3 speeches chosen for Culmination • Thurs 6/6 0 Culmination at Palisades High School

MAY 1-31 – LAUSD OPEN ENROLLMENT • This program allows parents to apply for designated "open enrollment" seats at specific campuses. • In recent years, the number of available seats has declined steadily. The application process typically occurs during May for the following school year. • Check the LAUSD website www.lausd.net for periodic announcements.

  11. May 18th – Pali HS MATH & READING ASSESSMENT @ Pali HS • All Revere 8th grade students planning to attend Pali HS are required by Pali HS to take a Math and Reading • Assessment. Pali HS will send information to parents directly regarding this assessment. • Questions? Call Pali High

  12. GOT ALGEBRA? Are you having a hard time in Algebra? YES, it is more difficult in the Spring semester. Are you going to tutoring on Mondays & Wednesdays after school? Come to the Counseling Office for an application. Ask your teacher if they provide help during Lunch.
