  1. The Pitch-Then-Plan Video Planning Template

  2. About This Template • To use this template, read then delete all of the slides that have a black background. Complete the slides that have a blue background.

  3. About Entrepreneurship • Doing, not learning to do, is the essence of entrepreneurship. • Remember, no one ever achieved success by planning for gold. • The hardest thing about getting started is gettingstarted. • As an (emerging) entrepreneur, you should always be selling—not strategizing about selling.

  4. The Proper Process • Throw together a pitch that contains the slides presented in this template. • Try it out on some mentors, friends, and relatives. Do this about ten times. • Get the team together in a room and discuss what you have learned. • Fix the pitch. • Start writing the script.

  5. Explain Your Movie in The First Minute • Never has a presentation been given where the audience has said to itself, I wish the speaker had spent the first fifteen minutes explaining his life story. • While you’re busy warming up, your listeners are inevitably wondering, is your movie about? • Do everyone a favor: Answer that question in the first minute. Once the audience has learned what you do, they can listen to everything else with a more focused perspective.

  6. African Wild Dogs:Members of The Pack Lilyanna R. Director Contact Information Friday, October 3, 2014

  7. Purpose • I want the audience to be more curious about African wild dogs after they watch this video and want to deepen their knowledge on them. I want them to be interested and inspired.

  8. Outline Your Idea • Be a great story teller. • Three act structure is very familiar for fiction. • Act I: Characters and Setting. End with inro of problem/goal • Act II: Solving the problem. End with Climax: the problem gets solved. • Act III: Happy ever after part

  9. Business Model • Explain how you make money: who will see your movie? • This movie will likely go on a nature channel such as Natural Geographic, Nat. Geo. Wild, Animal planet, ect. This might also be introduced to theaters. It will appeal to adults or children who are interested in animals. • How will your movie be special and different?

  10. Important Tips • Talk slowly and clearly • Be enthusiastic • Practice, Practice and Practice • Relax and have fun!
