  1. 1. Inheritances should not be given, because they cause bitterness among family members. 2. The giving of an inheritance is a worldly concept, not a Scriptural provision. 3. If inheritances are given, they should be equally distributed to each immediate family member. 4. It is wise to give inheritance money before you die. 5. Scripture does not give us any precedent for writing out a will. 6. Most Christians have their wills written out before they die. 7. Jesus taught that accepting an inheritance is demonstrating greed. 8. An inheritance should not be used to reward good behavior or punish bad behavior 9. Inheritance taxes strengthen families by allowing the government to distribute the money equally.

Christians should save their money so that they have sufficient funds on which to retire. 13. The only items that can be passed on by inheritance are money, property, and possessions. 14. Insurance programs are wise investments as retirement saving plans. 15. There are some inheritances that carry a curse with them. 16. The Old Testament practice of a grandfather’s giving final blessings to his children and grandchildren is not applicable today. 17. Aging parents who need continuous care should always be put into a nursing home.
