The Facts of History… • Stanley Melvin Berenstain and Janice Marian (Grant) were born in the same year of 1923 in the fighting city of Philadelphia. • They met at an art museum in Philly, where they got married after Stan returned from the war. • They displayed their early work in in The Saturday Evening Post, Colliers Magazine, McCall's, Good Housekeeping. • They were very interested in family and children humor, and that was their main focus on writing.

  3. Their Inspiration • Their Inspiration for writing and also their kids favorite, was Ted “Dr. Seuss” Geisel himself. • Ted, Published over 200 Books in the next 43 years for the Berenstain’s career.

  4. Family Business • Stan and Jan made a life time career of writing children's’ books. Their biggest hit was the Berenstain Bear’s Series. • Their son Michael became a children’s book illustrator and author by the 1970s. He joined the family business in the 80s and became the illustrator and co-writer of the Berenstain Bear’s Books by 1992.
