Problem Statements • Redesignation • Untimely processing of PSD Redesignation requests and limited guidance for states to follow when submitting such requests • Increment Tracking • Resource intensive and there needs to be a balance between obtaining reasonable estimates of increment consumption and the resources required to track increment consumption

  3. WESTAR Spring ’03 Business Meeting States, EPA, and FLMs would work together and develop core principles regarding redesignation that could be used for the development of a policy on this issue

  4. Redesignation Policy Progress • Parties met in June to identify core principles • Parties presented principles to their organizations • Parties briefed STAPPA on principles

  5. Redesignation Policy - Next Steps • EPA will take agreed upon principles and develop a policy for redesignation • Policy may be completed in draft form by late ’03/early’04
