  3. This is an International Baccalaureate Classroom Middle Years Programme

  4. What is IB? • IB It is a program of international education designed to help students develop the knowledge, understanding, attitudes and skills necessary to participate actively and responsibly in a changing world.

  5. IB has 8 core subjects – that work together through the 5 Areas of interaction

  6. These are some of the components of IB • * Service Learning- Community Projects required • * Real Life question based • * 10th grade Personal Project REQUIRED starting 2012 • * Interdisciplinary • * Rigorous • *International • *Student led inquiry

  7. The IB Learner is expected to be… • Critical Thinkers • Risk Takers • Inquirers • communicators • principled • open-minded • reflective • well-balanced

  9. A little about me This is what I looked like in 10th grade Despite my friends, I graduated high school!

  10. A little about me I went to college at Northeast Missouri State now called Truman University

  11. A little about me Despite my friends I graduated cum laude (with honors) in 1980

  12. A little about me I was married … For a while

  13. A little about me Had the most beautiful girl in the history of mankind Notice she has a play doctor set.. She is now in her last year of Medical school

  14. A little about me Went back to school and earned a Master’s in education with a 4.9 GPA

  15. A little about me I spent about 10 years teaching but got involved with technology. I left education and ran networks for 5 years… I HATED IT

  16. A little about me I also served as an Intelligence specialist in the US Navy . I served during Desert Storm These two medals say I am Expert in Rifle and Pistol shooting.. Think twice about not turning in work (just kidding)

  17. A little about me I re-married in 1994. My husband, Dan, is a 6th grade Science teacher at Granbury Middle School The most beautiful daughter in the world graduated UT in 2006 and is now a 4th year Med student at UT Health Science Center San Antonio

  18. A little about me I resumed teaching in 1999, and have been in FWISD four years. I LOVE my job and students Me when you don’t do your work!
