  • In 2012, EndreSzemerédi, professor of computer science, received the Abel Prize from the Norwegian Academy of Sciences and Letters, described as the mathematician’s Nobel Prize.
  • In 2012, President Barack Obama announced the selection of NihalAltan-Bonnet, assistant professor of biological sciences, to receive a Presidential Early Career Award for Scientists and Engineers.
  • In 2011, Alexander Zamolodchikov, professor of physics, was chosen by an international committee of distinguished scientists as the recipient of the Dirac Medal of the Abdas Salam International Centre for Theoretical Physics.
