  1. Basics of Event Promotion Sunflower Staffing Karen Faires Field Coordinator Colorado, Oklahoma, Florida

  2. How are you scheduled for events? • You must ask for a specific event. I will never schedule you for an event unless you say you can do it.

  3. Getting scheduled, cont. • Step 2: Check my website @ http://demosbykaren.wordpress.com/6-available-demos-promotions/ • Look at what’s available and send me an e-mail. Tell me date and store or stores you are available for. Example: 10/17 - 2219, 2218, 2403 10/18 - 2219, 2218, 2403 10/22 - 2219, 2218, 2403 (this tells me date you are available and which stores you want.  i will then try to fill with your first choice, then your second, then your third)

  4. then what . . . • Don’t request events for days you are already scheduled – Check your calendar 1st! • Unless there’s a specific reason why you can’t do a particular product, I will schedule you for any event still available on that date and at that store.

  5. Getting scheduled, cont. • Step 3: Watch your e-mail! Notices will go out when new jobs are available or there is fallout. • Sometimes the job is filled within 5 minutes, sometimes not – so, be sure to request it if you’re available and quickly!

  6. How will I know if I got the job? • I will always confirm you to be scheduled or tell you it is not available, by e-mail, as soon as I can. • If I get more than one request for a particular date and store, I will normally schedule it for the person who asked for it first. Get a calendar to keep track of your events!!

  7. What if I find out I’m not available after I’m already scheduled? • CALL me AND e-mail me both, if possible!! • I need to know immediately (if not sooner) if you are unable to do an event, for which you are scheduled! • I have to find someone to do the event. • We have to get the paperwork to the new EP (Event Personnel).

  8. Cancellations are a Big “No-No” • We take a very “dim” view of cancellations. • Do NOT request a demo unless you are certain you are available to do it. You are an independent contractor and if you say you can do a job, I expect commitment from you that it will be done. • I will go above and beyond to help you out any way I can. I understand emergencies and will do my best to find someone to do “your” demo.

  9. Cancellations, cont. • Manifests for kit shipments go to the shipper 2 weeks in advance. If you have to cancel “your” demo, it is your responsibility to get the kit to the store for the replacement. • I will work with you to facilitate getting the kit to the person filling in for your scheduled event. • Normally, we must have the “kit” to run the event.

  10. My Availability • I am always available to you by phone on demo days, with very few exceptions. If I’m not going to be, I will let you know. • If you call and I don’t answer, it’s because I’m working an issue with someone else. Leave a message! I will get back to you as soon as possible. • Do not leave the store!!

  11. No Show Policy • No Shows will not be tolerated. • Any jobs scheduled will be given to someone else. • You will be inactivated with a note in your record that you are not to be scheduled in the future. • If something unforeseeable happened, call me as soon as you can and we can discuss continuing with you as a demonstrator.

  12. THIS IS A JOB! • Be Reliable. • Be Trustworthy. • Be On Time. • Complete Your Paperwork. • Follow the Rules. We ask no more of you than any other employer.

  13. What will you receive to do the event? • 1. 23. Step-by-Step • PRINT THE DOCUMENT OFF OF THE WEBSITE! • Refer to continually for the first few times you are scheduled for an event. • Follow the steps!!! • Starts at the first step of preparing for the event. • Ends with mailing the paperwork.

  24. Let me know . . . . • I’m going to send you an e-mail every week asking if you have everything. • If you don’t respond, I have to call you. • I’ll give you any updates at that time. • Respond by hitting “Reply”!

  25. Uniform • Black pants, black closed-toe shoes, white buttoned shirt, plain black baseball cap (you provide your own uniform except for chef’s jacket) • CLEAN Uniform! 26. So . . What do I do first? • REVIEW THE MANUAL and CONTRACT • Compare the contract and kit contents to ensure they are for the same event and the correct date, place and product • Get everything ready!! • Contract (telephone contact numbers are on it) • Kit (Market Link and possibly promotional materials) • Print the Step-by-Step Instructions off the website and add to your “stuff” to refer to for proper sequence of necessary actions. • DEBIT CARD !!! • Can’t run the demo without one! • If you don’t have a debit card, call Karen!

  27. Then . . . . ? • The Market Link will give you specific instructions to call for your orientation. • Required for each demo date. • May be done before demo date. • Make note of the confirmation number • You must have the confirmation number in order to activate your card.

  28. You will then be considered as a No Show.

It is yours to keep. • Swipe-in with $1 purchase whether buying product or not!! • $5 extra per demo if swipe is done between above times(Colorado only) • If you swipe outside of 10:45 – 11:15, you will be unable to work for Sunflower anymore • Time on register is the time that gets recorded in the system – check it before you swipe (just ask the cashier) • We’re monitoring on the computer • Tells me you’re at the store ready to do your demo.
