Message to the Community • Texas curriculum (TEKS) is college preparatory • College readiness and ability grouping information • If a student is college bound, then we should plan for at least one AP course prior to graduation • The school will respond to student academic differences by ratcheting up the level of support instead of lowering the standard • Communication plan must be structured and multi-faceted

  4. Non-Negotiable Beliefs/Attitudes for Staff • “We are not through teaching until they have all learned” • Teachers must develop a mental model of the standards and work collaboratively to ensure effective instruction • We must know what students have learned and what they have yet to learn, thenwe must intervene to ensure student learning

  5. Learning @ Lovejoy • Unique Summer Professional Development Experience • Weeks of July 21, 28, and August 4 • $75 per day for most sessions which includes all materials, lunch and break snacks • “Because They Are All Our Kids”
