  3. Multicultural workplaces trainings Multicultural workplace - Three step training model 1. Personell general training 2 x 4 h = 8 h, 2. Guides deeper training 6 x 4 h + exercices = 30 h 3. Management training 5 x 4 h + exercices = 30 h Including • Different cultures(countries, workplaces) • Cultural encounters • Cross cultural communication • Human Resources • Diversity management and strategies Strategies, plans of action and manpower development

Internal and external changes to the environment - Political reasons • Operative reasons • Social reasons • Image/brand reasons • PASS 1 • Recognition of areas requiring change • Diversity consideraions • Analysis and definition of company values, mission, strategy and objectives from a multiperspective angle. • Role of management critical • PASS 2 ja 3 • Implementing change • Creating and reinforcing multicultural work community. Change in behaviour and work attitudes - Structural changes (if necessary) • Operative changes (HR process critical) • Redefinition of roles, tasks and areas of responsibility • PASS 2 ja 3 • Maintainance of a redefined work culture • Constant upholding of the principle and practices of diversity • Progress monitoring Diversity management (multicultural process of change in organisations)

Results of the diversity trainings Over 800 workers trained in different workplaces in the municipalities and in private sector Doctors, nurses, teachers, cleaners, day care center workers, cleaners Increase in knowledge and understanding of different cultures Improvement of intercultural communications Work practices and cultures are clearly defined and developed together Improvement of the overall working atmosphere Increase in motivation and work commitment Increase in overall work enjoyment and satisfaction Integration as a two-way/interactive process: mutual rules and obligations Web based case and material bank
