  2. Who? • BlackBerry enterprise, A.K.A. - Research In Motion Limited or RIM • More than 10 million BlackBerry users (awesome people)

What? • BlackBerry users could not send or receive text or e-mail • BlackBerry takes care of handling messages and delivers them to your BlackBerry relieving the user of having to “check mail” • BlackBerry failed to take in or send e-mails making it impossible to receive or send anything from your BlackBerry • BlackBerry’s crucial link in the chain of sending and receiving your e-mail caused a three day outage with no connection… whatsoever

  4. When? • The incident occurred from Sept. 18 - 20th, 2011 • BlackBerry released a video apologizing for any slight inconveniences on Oct. 13th, 2011

  5. Where? • Throughout North America, Europe, Africa, and the Middle East • BlackBerry headquarters located in Waterloo, Ontario

  6. Why? • Most affected said it disappeared overnight simply from stronger connection and re-routed systems from BlackBerry • BlackBerry has been monitoring and reviewing the issue but still haven't released any information

Interesting Facts • BlackBerry was originally created by a Turkish business man named Mike Lazaridis who moved to Canada when he was five • In 2007, the French government banned the BlackBerry from the presidential palace - they feared BlackBerry was associated with foreign spies • BlackBerry used to be so mesmerizing that people called it “Black Magic”
