  1. United States of America Good morning and welcome to World Health Summit 2006

Our location… • Our huge and fertile country has 52 states we are wedged in between Canada (up north) and Mexico (down south). • Our country is extremely commercialized, and has cities left right and center. • We are able to support ourselves without import, but we prefer to keep trade going as it benefits us. • Our country produces; coal, copper, lead, molybdenum, phosphates, uranium, bauxite, gold, iron, mercury, nickel, potash, silver, tungsten, zinc, petroleum, natural gas, timber.

  3. Population • U.S.A ‘s total population is 298,444,215. • We have 50 states each with a flag and laws of their own. But overall all of the states are governed by the president and democratic government. • 950,000 people are living with HIV/aids and 14, 000 died of it (2003 est.)

  4. Population & wealth • Our population are a very literate population with 99% of over 15s being able to read and write. • There is Only 5.1% unemployment rate, with 12% population below our poverty line. • We are known for being a rich country with over 10 trillion dollars to our name. That’s not to say we aren't in debt by 8 trillion dollars.

  5. Life expectancy • Males are expected to live to around 75 years old. • Females on the other hand are expected to live to 80-81 years. • Our country has a death rate (8. 26 deaths/1,000 population) of almost half the birth rate(14.14 births/1,000 population).
