  2. Myanmar, 2012, Government Trying to help • Myanmar government is trying to end the horrors happening to these poor, poor children, using all the power they can. • Despite the best efforts of the Government, children becoming recruited to the military is still a grave concern in 2012.

  3. Myanmar, 2011-2012, People protesting • The number of complaints in Myanmar about Children soldiers are increasing • In 2011, there were 236 complaints about children soldiers. In 2012, after the government tried to help, the number of complaints increased to 274.

  4. Myanmar, Late 2012, Danger increasing • In Myanmar, children are more increasingly stepping on landmines. • Shelling and bombings from the air also increase.

  5. Myanmar, June 27, 2012, Government signing treaty • On the date above, the government in Myanmar signed a treaty and decided to put a stop to the recruitment of children by the armed forces.

  6. Myanmar, 2012, August, President Investigating • President of Myanmar sets up investigation to stop violence between Raphine Buddhists and Roping Muslims in the West of Myanmar. Dozens have died. • Children suffer loss, their parents dead.

  7. Happy things going on in Myanmar: 2012 and 2013 • President of Myanmar visits Britain and announces, “all prisoners will be freed” • At the end of 2012, a total of 97 underage soldiers were discharged from the army. Yay!
