Issues Found During 2014 STARR Collection • Business Rule Validations • Residency Status Code • Cumulative GPA greater than 0.00, Term GPA must be greater than 0.00 • Cumulative GPA 0.00, Course Academic Grade Scale Code must equal 55-64 • Entry Date • Entry Date greater than Session Designator • Entry Date changed from a previous year’s STARR submission • CTE Concentrator • High School Student • Postsecondary Enrollment Type

  4. Session Designator • Student being reported for a given academic session multiple times • Students reported with 2 Cumulative GPAs for a non-unique session • CEPI will not be able to resolve this on a case by case basis • How to address the situation for future

College Transfer • College Transfer report released last year • Fulfill legislation of 4-year informing 2-year of the academic status of students • Looking back • Did not capture mid-year transfers • Did not reflect the student’s entire postsecondary enrollment history (only looked back 1 year) • Did not distinguish between undergraduate/graduate • Only counted transfer students that transferred out of a 2-year into a 4-year • Student could only count as a transfer once

College Transfer • Defining a Transfer Student • Include students who have enrollment in the same school year as the report year • Include Fall and Winter/Spring • Student must retain their student level between schools • Reported as a TransferIn through the STARR Collection • If the student • Adding new dimensions • Include transfer to multiple schools
