National Library of Latvia Subject Headings (NLLSH) NLLSH – adapted LCSH (~ 34 000subjects - authority files) established according to the • specifics of the Latvian language - in equivalence relationships (seen from references) - in elimination of homonymy • structure of LCSH - in hierarchical relationships (Broader term, Narrow term) - in associative relationships (see also references) including original LC subject headings (seen from references)

Application of the NLLSH NLLSH provides uniform subject access to • NLL resources in the special collections - Periodicals, Sheet Music and Music Literature, Sound Recordings, Cartographic Materials, Small Prints and Graphic Documents databases - Analytics Database (articles from serial publications) - National Bibliography Database of Monographs and Serial Publications • libraries of National Significance - Riga Technical University, University of Latvia
