  1. Ateneo Celadon The Official Chinese-Filipino Student Organization of Ateneo de Manila University

  2. Vision Statement Comprised of excellent culturally-oriented leadersrooted in Ignatian valuesand Chinese-Filipino traditions, Celadon envisions a Chinese-Filipino community geared towards nation-building.

  3. Celadon: 青瓷,花瓷 • Named after a jade-green porcelain crafted by skilled Chinese potters as early as the Shang Dynasty, Celadon is the brainchild of three Filipino-Chinese students who established it on July 17, 1985. • The name “Celadon” was chosen because its namesake served as a symbol of discipline and excellence, traits that the organization wanted to instill in its members.

  4. Celadon started out with a modest number of 110 members. In the years that followed, however, its members grew in number, and eventually it became one of Ateneo’s largest organizations. Today, on it’s 24th year, Celadon has a total of 378 members and 74 officers.

  6. Chinoy The official publication of the Ateneo Celadon. Now in it’s 11th year of publication, Chinoy is one of the most widely read publications in the Ateneo.

  7. Mid-Autumn Gratia A fusion of Teachers’ Dayand the Mid-Autumn Festival, students can vote for their teachers’ awards throughout the week. The awarding ceremonies for the professors and the famous dice game take place during the celebratory night at the end of the week. One of Celadon and ADMU’s most exciting celebrations.

  9. Spring Film Festival新春电影节 On it’s 4th year, the Spring Film Festival showcases award-winning movies from China in malls within Metro Manila. Our primary partner is the Confucius Institute of the Philippines. Movies we have shown so far are: 落叶归根,天下无贼,江城夏日, 电影往事among many others.

  10. Keeping alive tradition, Strokes is an annualcalligraphy and drawing contest hosted by Celadon and open to all Chinese grade schools and high schools in Metro Manila. Strokes 书法,绘画

  11. Celadon Teams Celadon participates in Ateneo’s IAC (Intramurals Athletics Council), a yearlong athletics tournament where members get the chance to show off their sporty moves through friendly competition against other organizations.

  13. Celadon Week Coinciding with the Chinese New Year, Celadon Week showcases the best of Chinese culture with festivities, bazaars and cultural shows. This year, Chinese New Year falls on February 14, 2009. Therefore, Celadon will be merging this project with Rose Sale, another one of Celadon’s legacies in the campus.

  14. Rose Sale 情人节 Celadon joins the Ateneo community as it celebrates the season of love. We sell roses on campus to students, faculty and staff. We also deliver roses to unsuspecting recipients with additional touches – a heartfelt serenade, stuffed toys and goodies sent straight to their classrooms.
