  1. ACTION PLAN RizwanaNaseem English Department D.A. College for Women Ph-VIII

  2. Goals Long-term Goals By employing 21st century approaches my students shall become independent and competent learners. Short-term Goals • Developing confidence in novices through 21st century skills methodology. • Making learners to form and share their ideas with their fellow students and others.

  3. Instructional Strategies and Tasks • I shall make students confident and expressive through dividing them in groups and asking their comments on the concerned text being dealt. . • I will try to instil questioning skills in my learners - to ask and comment on their peer-group performances thereby evoking discussion in the class. • The novices will be engaged in analytical and creative activities which will truly help them in understanding the text clearly and develop the ability to utilize their imbibing in producing something new and useful. • Through applying high-order thinking strategies in my class I shall test in my students the level of social responsibility, self-direction, interpersonal and collaborative skills, accountability and adaptability.

  4. Challenges and Solutions CHALLENGES SOLUTIONS • Students weak in English language and have exam-oriented approach towards their studies will surely find critical thinking tasks insipid. • Critical Thinking Skills need a lot of time to be accomplished which delays the process of syllabus completion. • Group discussions in classrooms often interfere with discipline matters. • Students must learn the accurate language usage rules by consulting the Oxford Practice Grammar and develop confidence in themselves of practising those rules. They must be convinced that learning is useful when done in comprehensive and analytical style, not confined to board papers only. • Syllabus completion target could be achieved even by applying 21st century skills through tactful time management ability. • Discipline can be maintained by observing and monitoring the groups checking their progress in activities.
