  6. The cuisine of Oman • Dishes are often based around chicken , fish, and lamb, as well a2 the staple of rice. • Most Omani dishes tend to contain a rich mixture of spices, herbs, and marinades. Kabsais a family of mixed rice dishes

  7. Stereotypes • One man is allowed to have more than one wife • Women aren’t allowed to show both their body and their head...

  8. Superstitions • Mirrors: some people do not accept putting a mirror in front of the child and they say that the child will lose his sight • Instead of going to hospitals to get medications, some people go to specific springs and ponds which are near beaches

  9. Gestures • Omanis use the right hand for greeting, eating, and passing items. They often use both hands to emphasize speech • Members of the opposite sex do not generally touch – do not offer your hand to an Omani of the opposite sex unless they offer you theirs first.

  18. Power Distance • High Power Distance ranking indicates that inequalities of power and wealth exist within the society and that the less powerful members of the society accept this situation. • The less powerful in oman are acceptant of this situation
