    2. Teeth Teeth help you cut , tear and crush your food before you swallow it. Humans are omnivores (They eat both plants and animals) their teeth are designed to eat most types of food. Molars: (Back Teeth) For crushing and grinding food Canines: (Fangs) In meat-eating animals like cats and dogs they are long and sharp and are used for stabbing and gripping food. Incisors: (Front teeth) Are used for snipping and cutting food.

    3. Milk Teeth Milk teeth (about 20 teeth) are used from six months old, and start falling out when about 5 or 6 years of age. Permanent teeth (about 32 teeth) used from five years of age until....... Well it depends how well you look after them!

Animal Teeth Carnivores: (meat eaters) have teeth suited for killing other animals and tearing flesh .Canines are long and pointed for holding and gripping flesh. .Molars can crack and crush bones. Herbivores: (plant eaters) have teeth suited to eating plants. Incisors cut off grass. Molars grind the grass as the jaws move side to side.

    5. Five ways to look after your teeth Brushing your teeth at least twice a day helps to remove plaque. Flossing your teeth also helps remove plaque and bits of food with bacteria feeding on it. Use toothpaste with fluoride in it – some scienctists think this helps to keep your teeth strong. some tap water also contains fluoride. Visiting the dentist helps to prevent tooth decay. Eating the correct foods (not so many sweeties, plenty of carrots and apples, drink milk.)
