  3. As delivered to BQ&T in 1936 nos. 1001 – 1099 built by St. Louis Car Co.

Note to viewers: • Very few color photos exist of 1001 in the original livery colors. • In this slide show, all but one vintage photo of 1001 show the green and silver colors which were used on all Brooklyn PCCs after the city took over operations in 1946. (If anyone knows the story behind “the dent” on the DASHBOARD - no doubt caused by a wayward motorist back in the day, let me know.)

  6. Trivia Question • What was the original paint colors used on ST. Louis Car Co. Brooklyn PCCs # 1001-1099?

  7. After nearly 20 years of service in NYC, 1001 eludes going to PCC heaven, PHOTO BY FRANK PFUHLER - MAN ON GROUND and is air-lifted thru Long Island City en route to Branford, CT in October 1956.

  8. Fifty some-odd years later, and after at least two overhauls PCC 1001 lives on at the Shoreline Trolley Museumin Branford, Ct.(BERA)
