Church Mission statement.
“As the redeemed people of God (called the Church), our mission is to proclaim the good news of salvation for the winning of souls to Christ through dynamic worship, evangelism, Christian education, social outreach, and enriching fellowship. We believe salvation must include the Lordship of Jesus Christ over our time, talents, tithes, and offerings.”
Ministries at St. Mark are encouraged to not only serve the church membership, but the community as well. They are expected to operate in accordance with Christian principles and in a spiritually nurturing manner; they should not be self-serving and should be designed for growth. With the exception of a few ad hoc Ministries, most can fall within five categories. In many instances, the Ministries can be assigned to multiple categories.Ministry structure
Spiritual Enrichment Ministries: Ministries that enhance Christian and spiritual growth.
Youth: Ministries that cater to youth in ways that are nurturing to them.
Outreach & Missions: Ministries that exist to evangelize to the un-churched and to serve the needs of the community and members in need.Ministry categories
Operational: Ministries that help to maintain a Christian climate, maintain a sense of decency and order in business matters of the Church, protect and preserve the assets of the Church in a way that advances Kingdom Building, and ensures orderly execution of worship experiences.
Music & Christian Arts Ministries (MCAM): Ministries that include choirs, musicians and directors, liturgical dancers, and dramatists that exist to enhance the worship service experience.Ministry categories (cont’d)
Outreach & Missions
In addition to serving our parishioners, each ministry is encouraged to “take the Church beyond its walls” by extending and enlivening their mission out into the community. God’s word tells, “…when you do this unto the least of these, you do this unto Me!”
Music & Christian Arts Ministries (MCAM): (see note page)
“Praise Him in His Sanctuary, Praise Him with the Psaltery and Harp, Dance, and Stringed Instruments. Praise Him with the sounds of clashing symbols, Let everything that has breath, Praise Ye the Lord!”
