Trusted Mentors utilizes mentoring to stabilize adults' lives impacted by poverty, homelessness, underemployment, and incarceration. Our mentors empower individuals to remain housed, contribute positively to the community, advance education, exit the justice system, or enhance parenting skills. By fostering social connections and skills, mentoring builds confidence, provides support for growth, offers a safe space for exploration, showcases diverse success models, and teaches new skills. Our success history demonstrates long-lasting relationships, stable housing rates, sustained employment, successful reentry, and mentor training and support.

What We Do? • Trusted Mentors uses the power of mentoring to help adults establish stable lives by reducing the chaos brought about by poverty, homelessness, under-employment and the effects of incarceration. The mentoring relationships improve lives by developing skills and positive social networks that empower people to: • remain housed • make a positive contribution to the community • advance their education • Successfully exit the criminal justice system • or improve parenting skills. .
Why Mentoring Works? • Thementoring relationship helps develop the social and emotional skills that can help a person move forward. • The relationship: • builds confidence • provides a resource for concrete ideas • provides a neutral, safe place to vent & explore new options • provides a role model for different ways of success • develops new skills that need to be acquired or relearned .
History of Success • In 2010, Trusted Mentors supported 85 mentoring relationships with 86% lasting past 6 months. • 86% remained housed while in the program • 95% of the relationships that took root remained housed • 75% of the mentees maintained employment • 81% of ex-offenders successfully remained out of prison • 100% of the mentors attend training • 100% of the mentors received ongoing coaching .
