  2. Sometimes [not often] procrastination can work to your advantage.

  3. Single-Subject and Group designs • Since the beginning, behavior analysts have been suspicious about experimental outcomes that are predicated on the assumptions of conventional/classical statistics. • Single-subject designs allow the researcher to visually inspect graphical illustrations of behavior and determine the extent to which functional control of the independent variable has been established. The determination of functional control does not rely on underlying assumptions such as homogeneity of variance, homoscedasticity, linearity, or random and independent sampling. In the world of single-subject design, such underlying assumptions make no sense whatsoever. Single-subject allow us to determine if a treatment has had an effect and single-subjects designs allow us to suggest the extent to which our outcomes will have similar influences on similar populations in the future. This is the basis of functional behavior assessment. As a practical matter, the same should be true of the analysis of group behavior by way of group design. • Consider the type of data analysis used by climatologists. Is it likely that modern predictions of weather or climate rely on the assumptions of classical statistics and employed by traditional psychologists?

  6. FBA and basic recording of target behaviors psyNet16 is tethered to Splashtop for Androids and iPhones

  7. Make a new folder named “Data” inside of Public If you are running Windows 7,the Public folder already existsin this location [i.e., inside of Users] If you are running XP,make a Public folder

  8. Place a “shortcut” to this folder named “Data” on your desktop Note: This must be a “shortcut” to the Data folder [see arrow]. The actual “data folder: remains inside of the Public folder. Now all output can be saved with just one click

  9. The FBA alone required about three weeks to complete

  10. Stacked FBA Noncontingent Contingent NonContingent Attention AttentionAttention

  11. EXCEL worksheet following an FBA session Just one session

  12. Hit F11to obtain a very basic2D illustration of one session

  13. EXCEL worksheet with a series of data sessions inserted After completing several sessions

  14. Only four sessions here – five or six would be way better Adjacent bars by arranged by condition in 3D: Not APA but interesting for posters

  15. Stacking Bars for FBA adjacent bars by arranged by condition 2 D stacking 3 D stacking

  16. Stacking Bars for FBA in 3D: Not APA but interesting I would only use for posters and ARD meetings Stacking Bars for FBA in 3D

  17. After your bar graph, just go to Home > Layout > Shapes > Line

  18. Everything you ever wanted to know about Alan and Betty

  19. Functional but what's wrong with this picture?

  20. Eleven intervals in which the target behavior occurred 5 times = 45.45% of the observed intervals for this session

  21. Office 10 isfairly intuitive Enter data for the Baseline Phase Fairly close to the same move

  22. Same as Excel 2003 Enter data for second phase. Note: data is not entered into same column as Baseline data

  23. Go to Home Chart Tools Move Chart

  24. Each session provides a data point

  25. From Insert, be sure you have clicked on the chart Rightclick onaxisto set at100 andchangefont

  26. Next week, everybody make a few samples on Excel and PPT for show and tell.“DO YOU UNDERSTAND?”

  27. That’s all buckaroos
