Suspensions • Particles are large enough to be effected by gravity • Settle to bottom • Or can be filtered out Cornstarch and water blood
Colloids • Particles are smaller than suspension but bigger than solution • Do not settle • Can not filter milk fog
To tell the difference between solutions and colloids we use the Tyndall Effect • Colloids particles are large enough to scatter light
