  1. FCRA Procedure on Using Credit Reports to Check your Applicants Step 1 Ask for the applicant’s permission and  written consent. This will prevent us from getting sued. Step 2 Inform and explain to the applicant how their credit report will be used and their rights as an applicant.  Step 3 We should ensure  that the applicant’s information will not be misused. Step 4 We must give the applicant a copy of their credit report. It allows them to see if there are any inaccuracies in the employment screening services results. Step 5 We must give the applicant an opportunity to explain the information in the report, before making any final decision. It allows us to clear and confirm any inaccuracies in the results.
