  2. Beam of white light hits Homer’s head Yellow light reflects in all directions Beam of white light hits Homer’s trousers Blue light reflects in all directions

  3. Why are things coloured ? • A yellow object reflects the yellow part of the white light which hits it. It absorbs all the other colours. • A blue object reflects the blue part of the white light which hits it. It absorbs all the other colours.

  4. Beam of white light hits Homer’s shirt White light reflects in all directions Beam of white light hits Homer’s shoes No light reflects

  5. Why are things black and white ? • A white object reflects all of the white light which hits it. So it looks white. • A black object absorbs all of the white light which hits it. So no light is reflected and it looks black.
