  2. Aerodynamics: • The study of the motion of air acting as a force on a solid object. Aerodynamics is very important in cars as it makes it move faster through the air and gives it better down force. For aerodynamics to work properly you need the right shape, if a car had a flat front with no curves it wouldn’t have a lot of speed so in order for aerodynamics to work you need curves. A good aero dynamical shape used in a lot of cars is the “tear drop shape”. • Our task is to make an aero dynamical efficient car so it can cut through the air. We will try different shapes and tricks to help us have the fastest car. We will try make our car as aerodynamic possible so we have no turbulent. The tear drop shape.

  3. OUR DESIGN

  4. OUR DESIGN • We chose these cars because they are aerodynamic so that it will be a fast car in the competition. • The colour of our car is a mixture of green and blue. • We came up with the name smash and logo as we thought it was associated with fast things, e.g. Cars. • We thought that using the ‘tear drop’ shape for our car as it is aerodynamic and would make the car flow through the air as if a tear falling down your cheek. • The colour we are thinking of using for our car is the colour of this writing.

  5. Resource & Planning • Media Packages • Team Smash use our Gmail account smashf1cvsty@gmail.com to keep all our important documents in one place accessible by all team members and as a means of contacting our team. Team Smash also have both a Facebook (www.facebook.com/Smash) and Twitter (@SmashF1Cvsty) account which we keep up to date with our progress. • Sponsorship Opportunities • If we make it past the first round we plan on gathering sponsorship for Team Smash from the businesses in our local areas. To get local businesses interested in sponsoring our Formula 1 team we will prepare a leaflet containing all the information possible future sponsors would need and want to know about Team Smash, Formula 1 in Schools and what we plan on using the sponsorship money on. • Budgeting • All sponsorship money kindly given to Team Smash by local businesses will go towards bettering our Formula 1 car, designing and purchasing a team uniform and team transport costs to the regional and hopefully national finals. • Marketing • Team Smash will be using our Facebook and Twitter accounts to advertise and promote our Formula 1 in Schools Team. As we already said we plan on doing up a leaflet with information on our team if we progress further in the competition and this will also be a means of advertising and promotion for us. We may also do up some eye catching posters to put up in our local towns and school to get people to visit our Facebook/Twitter accounts and hopefully to also encourage people to sponsor us.
