  15. Letter to Dean Francisca Roque Dean, Navotas Polytechnic College Phase I Kaunlaran Village, North Bay Blvd. South, Navotas City Dear Madam Roque: Greetings in the name of St. Thomas Aquinas! We are the UST Medical Clerks Batch 2011, currently undergoing our community medicine rotation at North Bay Boulevard, South Dagat-Dagatan, Navotas City. As part of our health promotion activities, we have conducted complete baseline physical exam among the second year students enrolled at Navotas Polytechnic College. Through this activity we were able to find several students with signs and symptoms of urinary tract infection. Urinary tract infection, when treated promptly and properly rarely lead to complications. But if left untreated, a urinary tract can lead to acute or chronic kidney infections , which could permanently damage the kidneys. One method of screening for UTI is through the dipstick urinalysis method. In line with this, we would like to conduct a urinalysis program for the students with symptoms of UTI on November 9 and 10, 2010, 9:00AM-12:00PM at the San Lorenzo Ruiz Community Socio-Medical Center. The aim of this program is to be able to diagnose students with UTI and other renal disease. This way, the students will be able to be treated promptly in order to avoid more serious complication of UTI. We would therefore like to ask permission from your good office to allow us to pull out the affected students from their classes on the day of the urine analysis . We greatly appreciate your support of our efforts for health promotion in the past, and we are hoping for your continued support in our present endeavor.
