  2. What to do if you get QuickBooks Error H303? QuickBooks Error H303 is the problem that usually strikes when the user attempts to switch company files into multi-user mode. Multi-user error also appears on the screen when the company files need some additional configuration. Read this post till the end and follow the instructions to fix the multi-user error.

Multiple reasons why QuickBooks Error H303 appears?  Solutions to eliminate QuickBooks Error H303 Solution 1: Check the services on the server  Note: Ensure that QuickBooks services are running on the server computer properly. Follow the below-given steps to check the services on the server. After this, you need to repeat the same steps for QBCFMonitorService.  QuickBooks services are not running on the server properly.  Network connectivity issue is one of the reasons that trigger multi-user error. 

  4. Click Windows Start Menu on your Windows desktop.  Open the Run window by pressing Windows and R keys together.  In the run window, type “services.msc” and click OK. Thereafter, locate and double-click QuickBooksDBXX from the list.  Choose the Status Type as Automatic from the drop-down menu. Now, ensure that the Service status is either Running or Started. In case none of these options is selected, then choose Start.  Click Recovery tab.  Next, click Restart the Service from each drop-down menu those are First Failure, Second Failure, and Subsequent failures.  Click Apply option and after this, choose OK to save the changes.  At last, launch QuickBooks on each workstation. Locate and click on the File menu and select Switch to Multi-user mode. 

  5. Solution 2: Ping the server from your workstation to verify network connectivity  Turn on Network Discovery on the server computer and any workstations having multi-user error: Select the Windows Start menu icon on the server and workstations. Thereafter, type in “Network” and then open “Network and Sharing Center.”  Now, choose Change advanced sharing settings.  Make sure that “Turn on network discovery” checkbox is selected.

  6. Get your server name from the server  Click the Windows Start icon. Press Windows + R keys to open the run window. Type “CMD” and press the Enter key. Afterwards, type “ipconfig/all” within the CMD window and click OK.  In the Windows IP Configuration section, locate the hostname. Now, note down the hostname or copy it to a word document. 

  7. Return to your workstation to test the server. At first, click the Windows Start menu. Open the Run window by pressing the Windows and R keys together.  In the run window, type “CMD” and click the OK option. Now, type “ping_(the server name)” and press the Enter key on your keyboard. Don’t include brackets around the server name.  Repeat these steps for each workstation that encounters Error H303.
