  2. STEP 1- One large cup of Responsibility Punctuality Arrive in class ON TIME This means BEFORE the bell Detention policy What is it? Lets find out!

  3. The second bell rings... • You’re hanging out in the hall... • A few minutes later you may consider heading to class (at your leisure) • When you finally arrived in class - there were likely not that many consequences for your lateness In the past... But not anymore!

  4. If you’re late or absent... There are 3 possible consequences

  5. Lunch Time Detention -lates • Monday to Friday for 35 minutes • After School Detention – unauthorized absent/skipped lunch detention • Tuesday/Friday after school for 55 minutes • Friday School Detention Skipped after school detention • Friday after school for 75 Minutes Possible Consequences

  6. Student is Late Receive a Detention Reminder Slip Attend a 35 min lunch detention at time indicated on slip BE ON TIME What happens if you are late?

  7. Student Misses Detention Receive a Detention Reminder Slip Attend a 55 min after school detention at time indicated on slip BE ON TIME What happens if you skip a lunch detention? Teacher phones parents

  11. What is considered late? Arriving after Oh Canada period 1 and … Arriving after the second BELL for periods 2-5 is LATE!!!

  12. Where do I go for my detention? 11:15 (Start P.3) in Room 136 12:35 (Start P.4) in Room 132 3:10 (After school) in Room 130

  13. No talking • No cell phones • No music • No food • You must be conscious • Working on assignments/projects allowed Detention Room Standards

  14. Who is responsible for your attendance?

  16. Attend all classes and arrive on time... And you won’t need to concern yourself with this!

  17. If you are late or skip a class – the consequences begin!

  18. Be in class…EVERY DAY! • Attendance is important • If you have to be absent – you must catch up So…..Attendance is important!

  19. You will be given permission to leave the class ONCE per week (Bathroom and drink of water) -”Boy who cried wolf!” Five pounds of Respect

  20. Emergencies don’t happen every day – and neither will washroom breaks To lose respect is easy to gain it back is difficult!

  21. Come to class Prepared to work -Pencils, calculator, eraser, your notebook, a positive attitude A cubic square of Initiative

  22. If you miss a quiz, lab, test or deadline of any kind you must TAKE RESPONSIBILITY for your mark! Come see me when you return! (bring a note!) An ounce of self regulation

  23. NO cell phones • NO food • NO hats • Listen! • Work hard Independent Work…Classroom Expectations

  24. Notebook checks throughout each unit A slice of Organization Classroom Procedures

  25. The classroom – pick up after yourself! Together we can keep the class clean and organized • Your classmates – bullying or jokes at the expense of others will NOT be tolerated Top it off with Collaboration Classroom Expectations

  26. Students will remain at their desk until the bell goes at the end of the period • NO LOITERING at the door Finish it off with a sprinkle of …use class time wisely

  27. Money Sense • Fractions, Decimals and percents • Rates and ratios • Measurement • Estimating This class will have 4-5 Major units

  28. Responsibility • Organization • Independent work • Collaboration • Initiative • Self-Regulation Review of our Learning skills
