The City of Markham is seeking individuals to become official Volunteer Park Ambassadors for our Parks.Park Ambassadors act as “the eyes and ears of the Markham community”, working in a proactive manner to deal with crime prevention issues and park maintenance concerns.Ambassadors will be an ongoing presence in our communities by visiting parks in their neighbourhood and reporting back to the Town of Markham Contact Centre with concerns and suggestions. What’s Involved? Attend mandatory training, provided by City of Markham and York Regional Police Direct all concerns to our Contact Centre (and contact York Regional Police directly for any Police issues) Provide valuable information and advice to residents on municipal services and who to contact with their concerns Serve as a goodwill ambassador for the Municipality Participation Requirements Must be a resident of Markham and at least 18 years of age Must commit to patrol their neighbourhood once per week Must attend mandatory training session and annual meeting Must receive a favourable York Regional Police Clearance letter (at no cost) For more information about becoming a Park Ambassador, please email our Contact Centre at customerservice@markham.ca or call 905-477-5530 Application forms are available at www.markham.ca
