The National Recovery Administration (NRA) was created by NIRA The NRA set prices and wage controls throughout the economy, but needed draconian methods to enforce its codes The Supreme Court ruled in 1935 that the NRA was unconstitutional

  3. Chapter 3: FDR and the New Deal E. Enacts Social Security Act (SS) The Social Security Act was created to give pensions to the elderly Money to fund the program is paid through the FICA payroll tax on all workers

Launched Civilian Conservation Corps (CCC) The CCC was a work relief program for young men from unemployed families The CCC set up camps run by the Army where the young men lived Participants worked on projects such as constructing logging and fire roads and trails in city, state, and national parks
