Investigation of AvrBsT Effects in Pi-0 Sober1-1 Transgenics Infected with Xcc 8004

This study examines the impact of the AvrBsT effector on Pi-0 Sober1-1 transgenic lines complemented with the Col-0 At4g22300 cDNA. Transgenic lines expressing P35S-At4g22285, P35S-At4g22290, P35S-At4g22300, or P35S-At4g22310 were subjected to infection with Xcc 8004 strains carrying pDD62 and pDD62(avrBsT-HA) to assess whether AvrBsT elicits a hypersensitive response (HR). Symptoms of infection were photographed 24 hours post-inoculation to analyze disease manifestation and effector functionality.

T1 Pi-0 transgenic lines expressing either P35S-At4g22285, P35S-At4g22290, P35S-At4g22300, or P35S-At4g22310 were infected with a 3 x 108 cfu ml-1 suspensions of Xcc 8004 carrying pDD62 and pDD62(avrBsT-HA) designated as (-) and (+), respectively. Symptoms were photographed 24 h post-inoculation.
