  4. Topography Landscape • Highest mountain is Inthanon Mountain • Many mountains and rivers • Malay Peninsula

  5. Vocal Music • Music involves layering • Singing/ Vocal Music is very important • It is used in everyday life

  6. More Music Information • People usually dance and use finger cymbals • Men have large drums • Learn by memorization and observation of their surroundings

  7. Clothing • Women wear long skirts • Men wear knee-length pants • Very similar clothing style to Western countries • Embroidery and silk are sometimes used

  9. Food • Rice is a staple food • Use many spices • Eat lizards, rats and caterpillars for meat

  10. Visiting Thailand • Living in Thailand would be fun! • The foods are weird!

  11. Government • Constitutional Monarchy • The constitution checks power • The Government approves strongly of music

  12. Climate • Tropical Climate • Have monsoons • Lots of rain

  13. Language • Thai is the main language • Thai has 4 dialects • Malay and Chinese are also spoken • Languages are taught through schooling and culture

  14. Education • Kids attend school from ages 10-14 • The government provides schooling for free, although some kids choose to pay to go to private school. • Thailand has 15 official Universities

  15. Way of Life • Lots of farming • Not much manufacturing • Education and Transportation jobs are popular • Wood Houses • Some concrete or stucco houses

  17. Religion • Lots of Buddhists • Most Malays are Muslims • Most Indians are Hindu • Not many Christians • Music is used in many religious ceremonies
