The Interim Final Rule • The IFR contains the majority of base standards recommended by HITSP • Summaries - CCD • Problem Lists - SNOMED-CT • Medications - NCPDP Script 8.1, RxNorm • Allergies - UNII • Labs - HL7 2.5.1, LOINC, UCUM, SNOMED-CT • Immunizations - HL7 2.3.1, CVX • Biosurveillance - HL7 2.5.1 • Public Health Reporting of Labs - HL7 2.5.1

  4. The Future • Keep the community of experts engaged. Be kind to each other. • Harmonize and commission standards based on clearly articulated priorities (Use cases v. meaningful use) • Implement tools including vocabulary registries and easy to use sources for implementation guidance. • Provide expert implementation advice. Use adoption as your success metric. • Build progressively and keep it as simple as possible.
