  3. Early Detection and Distribution Mapping System • Distribution of Invasive Plants Across the South • Electronic Early Detection System to Allow for More Rapid Responses • Large Scale Cooperative Management of New Invasive Species

History • No complete distribution data for Southeast • Holes in USDA PLANTS and now USDA Forest Service FIA data • Some data existed but not compiled in one location • SE-EPPC could provide support for state chapters • Invasive Plant List justification (Florida model) • State EPPCs could provide EDRR framework • Central location for collection and storage of data

  6. EDDMapS • 1 year (SE-EPPC) • Further compilation of collection data • Additional training sessions • Applied for Pulling Together Grant • Looking for other funding opportunities • Need for collaboration between all of the mapping projects underway

  7. Future Features • Links to Atlas of Florida Vascular Plants • Link to Identification and Biology of Non-Native Plants in Florida’s Natural Areas • Add way to include new species • Add a way to submit plant for identification • Add expert levels to user accounts • Others??
