Baltimore City Public Schools
A higher percentage of students participated in the high school choice process this year than in the prior three years.
Note: The percent participation increases even though the applications decrease because the number of 8th graders this year dropped by about 400 district-wide (primarily due to birth rate).
More of our schools are becoming schools of choice, with 76% of students making a choice receiving their first or second choice.
*A second choice process supported 15% of students that did not receive a choice during the initial choice process.
15 schools filled 100% of their 9th grade class through the high school choice process.
