  3. Learn About The Format Of The Bar Exam In most countries, the bar examination is a two-day examination consisting of a multi-choice section and a written section. The multiple-choice section of the bar review is written by the NCBE and is the same in all jurisdictions. The written portion can be different for different jurisdictions. For example, a performance test requiring examiners to perform a "lawyers task" is including several jurisdictions; a combination of multi-state essays and state-specific essays is also included.
