  2. WHY CHOOSE ELCW? • We are not just lawyers, we are people who believe strongly in what we do and advocate and support our clients.  • We love helping people make their lives easier and protect what they worked a lifetime to build.  • We work as a team with your professionals by training all our team members to handle the individual needs of our clients. • We know how to tackle complex matters in simple ways you can understand.  • We have master level social workers, RNs, psychologists trained in dementia and Alzheimer's diagnosis, Geriatric Care managers and benefit specialists all under one roof.

  3. OUR SERVICES • Estate Planning • Wealth Preservation Strategies • Asset Protection Planning • Elder Law • Tax and Charitable Planning • Probate

  4. TYPES OF PLANNING • Traditional Planning: Handling all matters regarding Wills, Health Care Powers of Attorney, Living Wills, Financial Powers of Attorney, Revocable and Irrevocable Trusts, etc. • Modern planning: Handling all matters specific to single people, unmarried couples, blended families, LGBT and planning for pets. • Medicaid Planning: Pre or post crisis planning pertaining to the protection of assets (and sometimes income) from nursing homes and government attachment. • Asset protection planning: Protection of assets from the government, taxes, creditors, lawsuits, nursing homes, divorce, bad business ventures, and predators. • Business succession planning: Help business owners explore tax efficient options to sell their business and minimize taxes or transfer it to next generation and to preserve their financial security. • Advanced tax planning: Handling all matters concerning potentially large income or estate taxes. We permit individuals to minimize taxes but maintain control and financial security.

  5. SERVICES FOR PROFESSIONALS 1) CPA: We value our relationship with CPAs and the ability to work with them to serve the needs of clients.  CPAs are an integral part of a team approach that utilizes experts to address the tax, financial and legal issues facing clients. We often use unique irrevocable trusts that provide the tax advantages of grantor trusts but also the advantages of protecting assets from creditors, predators, nursing homes and outside parties while keeping clients in control.  We enjoy updating CPAs on the use of these tools.

  6. 2) ATTORNEYS: We understand it’s impossible to handle all areas of law.  As a firm that focuses extremely on elder law and estate planning, we have a process to work with you and your clients to help meet your clients’ needs.  3) FINANCIAL ADVISORS: A proper financial plan is integral to our client’s success.  We enjoy working with ethical and competent financial advisors to assure our clients’ success.  Often we see clients with multiple financial “advisors” and no strategic plan in place.  We believe in diversification of investments but not necessarily diversification of financial advisors.  Having too many separately functioning individuals providing financial advice can lead to a lack of a functional plan.

  7. 4) BANKING: Bankers share a special relationship with their clients. At Elder Law Center of Wisconsin, LLC, we enjoy working with bankers to help develop that relationship to a whole new level. One of the biggest challenges to banking institutions is communication between the bank & the financial services division associated with it.  Elder Law Center of Wisconsin’s planning process helps bridge that gap and identify ways for the different departments of the bank to work more effectively together. We can help you with your clients. We can help you develop deeper relations with the client and extend those to other family members just by utilizing our process. Often, our systems and processes also support you and minimize the amount of work you have in relations with your clients.

  8. SOCIAL WORKERS & CARE PROVIDERS: Social Workers and Care Providers are at the front line and have the ability to spot unfilled needs of their clients. We work with you to make sure your clients have their estate plans in order, their finances are appropriately set up to maximize their ability to cover care costs, and that your clients care plan is able to be sustained as long as possible. We find that most clients do not have their legal affairs arranged in the most effective way possible nor do they have a coordinated financial plan to determine how best to pay for care to minimize taxes and assure longevity of the plan. We are happy to provide a complimentary consultation to review your clients existing legal documents and financial plans/assets to assure they are arranged to meet their needs and desires.
