Ecole Belgo School was opened in 1970. After 16 years it was closed in 1986, but continued to function as a private school. In 1990, extensive renovations were done and Ecole Belgo School was reopened as a School District #23 dual track school with French Immersion and English programs.
École Belgo School is situated at the south end of Rutland Road. It is one of 8 elementary schools in the Rutland area. Belgo’s catchment area ranges from low to middle income.
Ecole Belgo School is approximately 3 kilometers from 2 skating rinks, the YMCA, Okanagan Gymnastics Center and the Boys and Girls Club.
Our population is varied: Girls 44% Boys 56%

We have very few ESL students, and few labelled LD students.
In our school of 293 students, we have13 classroom teachers, apart-timeLearning Assistance Teacher and a part-time Teacher Librarian.
We have 48 Grade 3students spread between 3 classes.We have 3 different Grade 3 teachers: one with 23 years experience, one with 15 years, and one with 6 years.
Our library is well-used. We have a fixed schedule, with classes coming in once each week, for book exchanges and for information learning.
