    8. English Games for the Interactive Whiteboard with a focus on Grammar Spelling Style or based around Shakespeare ‘Image’ bank for stimulus for descriptive writing. Storyboarding or plots. An interactive game which creates different plot choices A site dedicated to an online newspaper – to supplement the print version that used to be produced at the Evening Post. Blogging areas, news updates, graphics, audio & video etc ideally setting up a framework that can be refreshed, or animation (flash menus).

    9. Music Website for Music Department Recordings of pupils work Notices for pupil rehearsals Pod casts – radio show format Instrumental timetables etc Music Tech students to assist with recordings

Media Construct a website that: Introduces the key concepts Has bespoke areas for GCSE, BTEC, ‘academic’ Media, applied Media and Film Includes pages that will be regularly updated with news that can be easily managed The site would need to be multi media, easy to navigate and engaging. The content would be provided by the department Ideally the website would have a content management system

    11. Learning Resource Centre Promoting reading WebPages Add to LRC section of Benton Parks website to promote reading. LRC staff have lots of ideas of different ways to promote reading and writing but need help to make the site professional, attractive and as interactive as possible. Suggested sections include: New stock Reviews on books, games, films, websites, TV program’s etc. Space for writers to share their work Space for reading and shadowing groups Readalikes (If you enjoyed ….. then try ….) What’s your reading personality? Blind date with a book Reading blog Let me know … Have a form on the site where students can register to be informed when new stock which matches their interests arrives Recommended reading lists complied under headings like ‘For a bad hair day’ and ‘Great escapes’ Space for students to make suggestions about books we should buy

Health and Social Care Games/Quiz’s etc for revision for GCSE ‘Personal Development’ A day in the life of a Health Visitor (Roles/Tasks/Qualities) linking with legislative aims As above for practice nurse and doctor Caring for older people in the community (in or locality) Lots of other ideas related to AS & A2 resources including every child matters and Early years

Art/Design and Photography Resource files of images for different art forms Resource files of artists/genres/movement Produce KS3/KS4 PowerPoints from unit projects based on set themes Set up Moodle exercises for the above schemes of work and projects Set up a bank of observational exercises for all key stages Set up a bank of research activities based on artists, designs, craftsmen etc. Complete website already started e.g. galleries/photos etc Create PowerPoint for plasma screen (school entrance hall) showcases of students work from all key stages Create Art History slides/PowerPoint through from cave art to present ephemeral/ installations, taking into account key points/movements/ISMS and artists/art forms – in context – historical and social etc. Create assessment folios of exemplar work for KS3 levels and KS4/% A- E etc showing sketchbook pages and final pieces Upload yr12/13 students work to Saatchi website/Royal Academy Website and school website

Modern Foreign Languages ‘English is not enough……….’ Development of an animated introduction to several languages e.g. Italian, Portuguese, Japanese, Latin & Community Languages Create a ‘character’ to star in the various sections (BBC Primary Languages project is an example) This would be great linked to New KS3 curriculum dimensions of ‘Identity and Cultural Diversity/Technology and Media’

    17. ICT File management game to teach good file names and good file management (Flash) Large database (loosely based on Cluedo) so that queries can be made by pupils to find support Flash games on e-safety Simple game creation software

Psychology Design a revision game based on ‘WIPE OUT’ (the TV Game Show of late 80’s early 90’s with Paul Daniels Put in key psychology terms/ topic areas etc. Department have tried to work out how to create this but lack the knowledge. The department requires a blank game so that they can copy it and use it in lots of areas, putting in the terms they want. The department require 12 x terms 8 of which are correct for a particular topic. Students to come to whiteboard and touch ones they think are correct. The game tells them how many are correct and they then have a time limit, say, 2 mins to try and ‘unselect’ the ones chosen to change and then see how many are right etc. Would be good to have a countdown clock with sound for right and wrong answer.

    19. History ‘Wall Street Crash’ simulation Game – Existing excel file shows how prices changed and kids can buy and sell. This could be used to power a ‘flash’ version Generic ‘Build a Museum’ Game. Uses, choices and budgets monitoring students create a 3D museum. Areas linked to pop-ups that give extra details of exhibits ‘Decline of the Monarch’ Students select pre-written speech bubbles from different scenes which show how the power of the monarchy has declined
