Laura Motes - Working with the ASPCA

Laura Motes is always prepared for a natural disaster. Even though her community of Watkinsville, Georgia hasn’t experienced many natural disasters, Motes feels that she and her community should always be prepared in case of flooding, earthquakes, or anything that may cause a serious disruption in the lives of the people there. Hopefully she won’t ever have to use her disaster preparations, but if the time comes, she hopes to be a help to her community.

  1. Laura Motes Working With The ASPCA Laura Motes is a member of the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals. Motes donates her time and her money to this organization as often as possible. Motes is a former law enforcement officer and adopts dogs from shelters herself, and she believes that all animals deserve to be treated with love and respect. Motes is hoping to earn a Master’s degree in Nursing from Georgia Regents University beginning in the fall of 2016.

  2. Laura Motes Business Degree And Experience Laura Motes attended Georgia Southern University in Statesboro, Georgia. She worked hard to earn a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration and Management Information Systems. She used this educational background as a springboard for her career as a law enforcement officer. She was often placed in leadership positions where she excelled because of her experience working in teams and groups in college. Today, she plans on attending Georgia Regents University as a graduate student in Nursing.

Laura Motes Military And Paramilitary Experience Laura Motes graduated from Georgia Southern University in 1992 with a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration and in Management Information Systems. She graduated with honors as well from the United States Army Military Police Corp Officer Basic Course at Fort McClellan, Alabama in 1993. Her training with the military helped her graduate from the Northeast Georgia Police Academy in Athens, Georgia, recording over 2,000 hours of training. Motes then joined the Athens-Clarke County Police Department later in 1993 and started out as an officer in the Uniform Patrol Division.

  4. Laura Motes The Importance Of Diet And Exercise Laura Motes has always been committed to treating herself and her body right. As a former law enforcement officer, she had to be able to perform difficult physical acts on the job routinely. Ever since she left her days of crime fighting behind her, she has been heavily involved in exercise routines around her home in Watkinsville, Georgia. These routines involve trail running, hiking, and training for marathons. She has run distance races of all kinds.
