  14. Overwatch Season • Season • The IHSEA season will consist of an 8 week regular season that will begin on January 29th, 2019. • The tournament will be two 4 week “phases” where specific map pools will be played for each phase with a seperate map pool for playoffs. • At the end of the 8 total weeks of play, all teams will be seeded and put into the single elimination best of four bracket where teams will compete in the final state series. • Semi-finals and State Finals MAY be held at a LAN event. (Subject to finding venue. More information to come.)

  15. Overwatch Teams • Teams • Teams must field no less than 6 members to compete but have no more than 12 to a specific active roster. • Schools are allowed to carry only one team for the Varsity level, but may fill as many Junior Varsity spots as they want as long as they meet all requirements for active rosters. • Rosters must be submitted to the IHSEA by January 25th, 2019. Any changes to the active roster are subject to rejection by the IHSEA after that date.

  16. Overwatch rosters cont. • Roster Requirements • Each team must designate 6 active starters. • Each team can have up to 6 designated substitute players. • Any roster changes must be submitted by the school administrator • Rosters will “lock” 24 hours prior to their designated match time. Any substitutions after that 24 hour window must include notification of an IHSEA admin. • All substitutions can be noted in the “OW Substitution” text channel in Discord. Both the IHSEA admin (Coach Cann) and a member of the opposing high school must be tagged in the substitution post. • Students may be a starter on a Junior Varsity team and a substitute on a Varsity team. • Students may only play at ONE level per week. I.e. if a student may play as a substitute for Varsity one week, they must wait for the following week’s matches to play on their designated Junior Varsity team. • You have up until 5 minutes prior to submit a substitute prior to the match. If a substitute is not declared before then, that team will forfeit that map. • Students may NOT change their Battletag from week to week. The same Battletag will be required throughout the tournament.

  17. Overwatch Tournament Play • Match Details • Teams will play a best of 4. Teams will play all four assigned maps, which will go to a team’s map total for the year. • If after the fourth map there is a tie of 2-2, a final map will be played to decide the winner. • The season will have a set schedule of teams and the the final records and will impact standings of the playoffs. • The tie breaker between maps will be the TOTAL number of maps won.

  18. OW Tournament Play Cont. • Map Rotations: Each series will be played on a set of assigned maps. All four maps MUST be played in each match regardless of score. The order in which the maps are played must also be followed each match as well. • The following is the map rotation: Escort, Control, Hybrid, Assault • An additional Control map being the Tie-Breaking 5th map if needed. • All specific map choices will be predetermined by the IHSEA at the onset of the season and be released at the onset of the season.

  19. OW Tournament Play Cont. • Match Settings • All games should be played with the “Competitive” pre-set selected. All maps except for the map to be played should be set to “off”. • Each team will be allotted 15 minutes of “Pause” time. It will be the responsibility of the pausing team to notify tournament admin when a pause takes place. If the unpause has not been completed in 15 minutes, the team who did NOT start the pause will then reach out to the same tournament admin and they will then approach the pausing team. That team will either be forced to: • Complete the match with whatever complications they are experiencing or •  Forfeit that map

Click the “Game Browser” menu option located on the right-hand side of the screen. • Click the “CREATE” button on the top right-hand corner of the screen.
