  1. Pixel HeatersRefurbishment 22.01.2014 A.Bitadze

  2. Work done: • Core resistance measurements (for the heating element). • Isolation resistance measurements. Measurement are done every month to monitor changes • Inspection of the control, interlock and C31/C32/C33 temperature sensors and connectors. • Relabeling temperature sensor cables and connectors. • Checking existing spare heaters. • Created existing spare heater inventory (Twiki page). • Ordered 16 Spare heaters from THERMOCOAX. • Created EDMS folder for documentation.

  3. Work done: Design Resistance:Barrel/Opto 20.23 Ω Discs 38.01 Ω • Core resistance measurements.

  4. Work done: Design Resistance:Barrel/Opto 20.23 Ω Discs 38.01 Ω • Core resistance measurements.

  5. Work done: • Core resistance measurements.

  6. Work done: • Measured isolation resistance for the Heater on Loop 084 was 450 MΩ.Measurements in 09.07.2013 were showing O.L. in GΩ range. • Measurements in 29.08.2013 were showing 450 MΩ . • Measurements in 27.09.2013 were showing O.L. in GΩ range. • Measurements in 27.10.2013 are showing O.L. in GΩ range. • Measured isolation resistance for the Heater on Loop 005 is 0.11 MΩ.Measurements in 09.07.2013 were showing O.L. in GΩ range. • Measurements in 29.08.2013 were showing O.L. in GΩ range. • Measurements in 27.09.2013 were showing 0.11 MΩ. Measurements in 27.10.2013 are showing 0.11 MΩ. All other heaters show O.L. for the isolation resistance in GΩ range • Isolation resistance measurements.

  7. Work done: Damaged: 5 Thermocouples 19 NTC 1 Connector (for C33 sensors) Damaged sensor/connector inventory: • Inspection of the control, interlock and C31/C32/C33 temperature sensors and connectors.

  8. Work done: • Relabeling temperature sensor cables / connectors.

  9. Work done: https://twiki.cern.ch/twiki/bin/viewauth/Atlas/HeaterSpares • Checking existing spare heaters. • Created existing spare heater inventory (Twiki page).

  10. Work done: 16 Assemblies56 000 CHF • Ordered 16 Spare heaters from THERMOCOAX.

  11. Work done: This EDMS folder contains all documents (Drawings, Measurement Data, Plots, Presentations, Meeting minutes…) related to the heater refurbishment activities. 12. On-going activities and plans: • Fixing Broken Sensors (5 TC, 19 NTC, 1 Connector). • Solder Lemo Connectors on control sensor cables (2x88 in SR1 + 2x88 in pit = total 352). • Attach TC sensors instead of C33 NTC sensors (33 sensors).Solder Lemo Connectors on these control sensor cables. • Endescope inspection for 20% of heaters. • Pressure Test at 7barabs.Parts are ready: Manifold, Pressure Sensors, Readout box, PC, Labview program. • Leak Test.
