Formimi i shtetit • Anglia ka ekzistuar si një entitet i bashkuar që nga shekulli 10. • Në 1536 u formalizua bashkimi me Uellsin, • Në 1707 u bashkua me Skocinë për të formuar Britaninë e Madhe. • Bashkimi i BM me Irlandën u implementua më 1801. • Pas ndarjes së Irlandës në 1921, gjashtë qarqe/krahina të Irlandës mbetën pjesë e Mbretërisë së Bashkuar. • Kushtetuta: e pashkruar, statuset e partive, common law dhe praktika.

Forma e qeverisë • Monarki kushtetuese. • Kryetari i shtetit: monarki trashëguese. • Kryetari i qeverisë: Kryeministri, zakonisht kryesuesi i partisë mazhoritare në dhomën e ulët. • Kabineti: Kabineti i ministrave i caktuar nga Kryeministri. • Nënndarjet administrative: Anglia... Irlanda... Skocia... Uellsi....: boroughs, counties, cities, council areas...

Nuk ka zgjedhje (por në zgjedhjet e 1999 zgjedhjet janë mbajtuar për të përcaktuar 92 peer trashëgues).

Sistemi i partive* • Elektorati: 44.245.939, Votuesit: 27.148.510 ose 61.4%. • Partitë: Labour Party (355 ulëse), Conservative Party (198), Liberal Democratic Party (62), Democratic Unionist Party (9), Scottish National Party (6), Sinn Fein (5), Plaid Cymru (3), etj. *Rezultatet e zgjedhjeve legjislative ne 2005.
